Steven M. Sherman specializes in complex commercial litigation including prosecuting securities and antitrust class actions, arbitration, and small business advisory.
Mr. Sherman has eighteen years of experience representing investors and investment professionals in federal and state courts, arbitrations, and in matters pending before federal and state securities regulatory agencies. Mr. Sherman has practiced law with Shearson Lehman Hutton in New York City and with Gold & Bennett (now known as Cera, LLP), a San Francisco law firm specializing in plaintiff class actions and other complex litigation.
He is a 1985 graduate of the University of Massachusetts at Amherst with a degree in finance and a minor in economics. Mr. Sherman received his law degree from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, Yeshiva University, in 1988. In addition to several district courts and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, Mr. Sherman has been admitted to the bars of the following states: New Jersey (1988); New York (1989); Florida (1989); and California (1993). Mr. Sherman recently retired from the New Jersey Bar.

We provide expert representation in prosecuting or defending claims such as breach of contract, business torts, claims for unfair competition, and other business disputes.
The firm has provided the following services to food/nutritional supplement entrepreneurs and companies: drafting requirements and exclusive supply contracts for organic farms supplying raw ingredients to a nutritional-supplement company; prosecuting a co-packer for failing to follow the formula supplied by a marketer/ distributor of an energy bar and for anti-competitive business practices, and defending a cross-claim for breach of contract; defending claims of unfair business practices when individuals hired by a grower of an agricultural product to broker a distribution agreement ultimately ended up with a long-term agreement to the exclusion of the grower; defending a soybean distributor in a breach of contract action; drafting, reviewing and negotiating non-disclosure agreements and licensing agreements; and providing advice on employment issues.
The firm has successfully represented a chiropractor in proceedings to have professional probation terminated early and in correcting the Doctor’s professional record as reported to the Healthcare Integrity and Protection Data Bank.
