Jenya Shanayeva, LL.M.

Jenya practices in the areas of advanced estate planning, gifting strategies, post-mortem planning and complex estate and trust administration. She has experience structuring installment sales to defective grantor trusts, dynasty trusts, life insurance trusts, personal residence trusts, beneficiary defective inheritance trusts, charitable remainder trusts and transactions with non-grantor trusts, as well as family limited partnerships and private foundations.  Jenya 's primary focus is on structuring multi-generational wealth transfer, preservation and business succession vehicles with the emphasis on the estate tax, gift tax, GST tax, income tax and California property tax issues. Jenya has also had experience with planning involving non-U.S. residents. 

Born and raised in the Ukraine, Jenya moved to the United States in her early twenties. She earned her B.A. from the University of Southern California, her J.D. from Syracuse University and an LL.M. in Estate Planning from the University of Miami School of Law. While in law school, Jenya served as a business editor of the Syracuse Journal of International Law and Commerce and also worked at the Syracuse University Tax Clinic where she focused on federal income tax
resolution matters.
