Dean Trevelino has served in executive positions with three of the largest global public relations firms (OgilvyPR, Golin/Harris and WeberShandwick), spanning 16 years. His desire to launch his own firm in 2003 with long-time colleague, Genna Keller, was motivated by an eagerness to apply global agency experience in a boutique environment.
Founded in 2003, Dean serves as co-founder and principal with Trevelino/Keller, a full-service digital public relations and integrated marketing firm. Ranked as high as the fourth fastest growing firm in the U.S. by O’Dwyer’s PR and recognized as one of the 30 Best Firms to Work For in North America by Holmes Report, the agency offers public relations, integrated marketing and creative services, cutting across eight practices: Technology, Lifestyle, Health, Financial Services, Food & Beverage, Environment, Government and Franchising.
At Trevelino/Keller, Dean’s role is to manage jointly the direction and growth of the firm, while taking a consultative role on clients and a shared responsibility with business development. With 40% of its business among emerging brands and 40% among middle market, the agency has established one of the most extensive ecosystems for innovators and entrepreneurs, representing Atlanta Tech Village, Atlanta Tech Angels, Tech Alpharetta, Keiretsu Forum, Raise Forum and LaunchPad 2X. It hosts its own entrepreneur community called Winepreneurs.
Dean’s career includes work with brands including Carvana, EarthLink, Sun Microsystems, Starbucks, Nike, Sara Lee with notable involvement in the Olympics and World Cup. He’s been on the front lines of major crises including the Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill, worked with prominent corporate and sports personalities, and has successfully participated in company launches, IPOs, acquisitions and exits.
Dean has appeared in print, radio and television on topics ranging from public relations, real estate, small business, crisis preparedness, social media and franchising. A member of the Forbes Agency Council and active editorial contributor, he is also published in Creative Public Relations with the Inside the Minds Series. His speaking experience includes a diverse mix of shows including NRA, Dine America, FOHBOH Social Media, SoCon and others. An avid runner, Dean competes in ultra relays across the country. He earned an M.A. in organizational communications from The University of Alabama and a B.A. in English from Pennsylvania State University where he competed as a Division I wrestler.
