Ying Wang

After graduating from University of California, Irvine, Ying started his career in finance in 2003.  Starting as a teller, he was quickly promoted to a personal banker and then a licensed premier banker.  Through the various roles, Ying decided that his calling was in the investment industry and obtained his series 7 and 65 in April of 2009 amidst the Financial Crisis.  With the looming closure of his then employer, Wachovia Bank/Wachovia Securities, starting a career in investments was not ideal, however, with patience and perseverance, Ying continued the path.  Now with over 16 years of industry experience and navigating through a handful of challenging market conditions, Ying has gained the experience and knowledge to not only assist with his clients’ financial needs through tough economic times, but also help them continue their financial journey through dedicated and personalized Financial Planning.  Prior to joining OWL Wealth Management, Ying held the role as a Senior Financial Advisor with Wells Fargo Advisors for 10 years.  Although he was growing year over year in that role, he always felt that the bank platform lacked some necessary tools that would be beneficial to that his clients.  After much deliberation, he decided to join Ameriprise in the middle of 2023 primarily due to the focus on Financial Planning. Since his transition to OWL Wealth Management, Ying has managed to help 90% of his clients transition their assets to his new team and firm.  Each client has been able to take advantage of the new personalized tools and strategies implemented through the team construct.  Today, Ying lives in Yorba Linda, California with his wife (Lyna) and his two sons (Lucas age 6 and Maddox age 3).  During his spare time, he can be seen chasing his two boys around the neighborhood in their powerwheels.  When he is able to get away for a few hours, he enjoys golfing and racing cars (although that has been put on hold for the foreseeable future).
