Known for leveraging innovative real estate tax strategies, Isaac Downing is no stranger to delivering dramatic results.  As the Founder and President of United Tax Advisors, Isaac leads a national tax advisory firm specializing in cost segregation, helping businesses and real estate investors optimize their tax liabilities and enhance cash flow. His leadership, grounded in military service and refined through decades in the tax industry, positions him as a trusted advisor and a leader in his field. A tax executive with a unique accounting and engineering background (from his time in the US Marine Corps), he has earned a reputation for equipping clients with tax strategies that proved instrumental in reducing tax liability and increasing cash-flow. While at Omega Accounting Solutions, Isaac was appointed to build out the firm’s new tax division  which includes hiring a top-notch team, developing the IRS-compliant infrastructure, partnering with legal to solidify tax contracts, working with marketing on client tax materials, and spearheading business development initiatives through various channels. Similarly, while at Capstan Tax Strategies, a national tax incentives and credits firm, Isaac served as the West Coast Regional Director and led its entire west coast build-out operation, significantly expanding the firm’s client portfolio. He and his team boosted new revenue growth and exceeded yearly sales goals through the sale of millions in tax incentives and credits while helping CPAs and commercial real estate owners navigate Tangible Property and Fixed Asset tax regulations to maximize cashflow. Prior to this, Isaac thrived at Moss Adams LLP and RSM US LLP, two of the largest public accounting firms in the U.S., where he provided strategic advice to client CEOs, CFOs, and VPs in areas regarding tax incentives. In addition, he conducted national cost segregation studies on accelerating depreciation and lowering clients’ taxable liabilities as well as Cost Segregation and Fixed Asset Valuation studies on various real estate projects ranging from $1M to $100M+. As the engineer on these projects, Isaac made it his priority to identify and communicate additional savings streams to his clients.  During his time in fixed asset management with Sunstone Hotel Investors (NYSE: SHO), (luxury hotel REIT) and Wetseal Inc. (NYSE: WTSLA), Mr. Downing respectively managed $3B+ of fixed assets (30 high-end hotels nationwide) and all phases of fixed asset phases capital projects for 700+ Wetseal retail stores. Isaac holds a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Accounting and Finance from California Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks, California. On the personal side, he currently resides in Dana Point, California and enjoys volunteering for VA-related charities, and working out.
