Suji has practiced as a Geoenvironmental Engineer in California over the past 33 years. His geotechnical engineering experience covers siting studies; geologic and seismic hazards evaluation and mitigation; design and analysis of tunnels, pipelines, reservoirs, and dams; foundations for bridges and industrial and commercial structures; slope stabilization and landslide mitigation; design of liners and covers for waste containment facilities; and remediation of contaminated sites.   

He has served as the lead geotechnical engineer on dozens of high profile projects in California including tunnels, ocean-front developments, waste water treatment plants, solid waste landfills and Superfund sites. He has authored publications pertaining to numerical modeling, groundwater flow, ground improvement, landslide stabilization and earthquake engineering. He has interfaced with multiple regulatory agencies, including the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), US Army Corps of Engineers (USACOE), Department of Toxic Substance Control (DTSC), and the State Water Resources Control Board (SWRCB).

He serves as a Visiting Lecturer in Geoenvironmental Engineering at the University of California, Los Angeles.  He serves on the American Society of Civil Engineers, Unsaturated Soils Committee and Embankment and Dams Committee, and has served as a Technical Reviewer for the Journal of Geotechnical and Geoenvironmental Engineering.
