Mr. Richards is a specialist in technical sales strategies and channel partner development. His expertise comes from 25 years leading diverse sales teams around the world. His experience in selling rotating machinery to global customers in the Oil and Gas, Petrochemical, Power and related industrial markets brings a solid understanding of the unique strategies required for long cycle, highly engineered products. He has developed and led sales channels using both direct and indirect methods and has hands on experience building relationships from the field to C level executives.
Following graduation from University of Houston with a degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, he began his career with the industry leading gas compressor manufacturer at the time. His career included positions with global leaders such as Solar Turbines (a Caterpillar company), Cameron Corporation (later acquired by GE, Ingersoll Rand, and Schlumberger), and Gardner Denver’s Nash Division.
His success with complex global opportunities comes from his experience with a wide variety of customers. In addition to relationships with end users, he found success selling through contractors and engineering firms, agents and distributors, and government agencies around the globe. Assignments both domestic and abroad developed his ability to communicate value despite language barriers.
The highlight of his corporate career was developing a global sales organization across 13 countries. This role required experience from previous assignments to ensure a global sales team was organized with a strategic mindset, open communication, with consistent sales processes leading to global success.
His education includes a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology from the University of Houston along with an MBA from University of Houston, Clear Lake.
