Kathryn (Lee) Boyd
Kathryn (Lee) Boyd is an American lawyer and educator who has practiced and taught international law for over 25 years, both as a faculty member of Pepperdine University Law School and as an advocate in several landmark international human rights, commercial litigation, and arbitration matters. She is a founding partner of Hecht Partners LLP, a boutique litigation firm specializing in Intellectual Property, Class Actions, and International Arbitration. She is also a founding principal of the global International Arbitration network, Victoria Associates.
Lee is a graduate of Harvard Law School, with honors, and admitted to the bars of New York and California, where she maintains offices.
Ms. Boyd is an authority in international human rights, having taught, published, and practiced in the field for 25 years. She melds an academic approach with practical litigation skills to offer clients “top shelf” representation when the stakes are high.
She is experienced in complex commercial litigation and arbitration, foreign sovereign immunity, cross-border disputes, foreign domestic and investment property restitution, and enforcement of foreign judgments and arbitral awards.

U.S. terrorism victims’ group in international litigation and parallel international arbitration involving the Libyan – United States Claims Treaty
Claimants against Iran and other sanctioned foreign sovereigns in enforcement of judgments
Restitution of 13th century illuminated manuscripts on behalf of the Armenian Orthodox Church against the J. Paul Getty Museum
Restitution of Nazi-stolen art property on behalf of U.S. and Polish heirs and Holocaust survivors
Intellectual property rights in copyright and trademark on behalf of Korean music publishers
Ms. Boyd is currently involved as co-lead counsel with Mayer Brown International in an investor-state ad hoc arbitration regarding $100 million investment in Romania as advocate for Claimants under the Bilateral Investment Treaties between the U.S. and Romania and Canada and Romania. She also is involved in a commercial arbitration before the Panama Center for Commercial Arbitration on behalf of a Spanish construction and development company for a $30 million breach of contract claim.
