Allison Gambill

Of Counsel

Allison Gambill’s unique background in consumer protection and employment makes her an invaluable resource to companies in highly regulated industries. She provides comprehensive and overarching services to businesses regarding their compliance, employment and other general business needs.

Allison counsels and defends online and brick-and-mortar consumer services companies in both employment and consumer protection matters in federal, state and administrative courts. Her practice involves providing individualized compliance advice to businesses as well as defending against pending or threatened litigation.

Companies that market products interstate by telephone or social media rely on Allison to guide them through all aspects of compliance, including licensing, copy review, endorsement/influencer review, the design of compliance policies and procedures, developing employee oversight and audit programs, and enacting proactive strategies for avoiding disputes and litigation. Her aim is to assess a business’ compliance needs and make recommendations to lower risk of liability.  These assessments are informed by Allison’s litigation background and experience with employment law limitations and best practices.

Allison uses her experience to conduct internal investigations, draft policies and procedures, and develop employment agreements. She also advises on employment-related decisions including terminations, leave issues and disciplinary actions. On the litigation side, she defends employers across the country against claims of discrimination, harassment, retaliation and public accommodation violations.

Allison has represented banks, mortgage lending institutions, loan servicers and financial service companies in federal and state court litigation in Colorado and New Mexico. Cases in those courts have involved violations of the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA), the Truth in Lending Act (TILA) and state unfair deceptive trade practices acts, among other federal and state laws. She works with a team of Brownstein attorneys to provide clients advice on Privacy, FTC Act, Children’s Online Privacy and Protection Act (COPPA), Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), Telemarketing Sales Rule (TSR), and Equal Credit Opportunity Act (ECOA) issues, among other laws. Prior to joining Brownstein, Allison represented a large national bank in litigation in various disputed foreclosure actions involving claims of breach of contract, violations of the Colorado Consumer Protect Act, the FDCPA, intentional infliction of emotional distress and civil conspiracy.
